Natalie article features Mikiko on "Tokyo Show" for Rio 2016 Closing Ceremony

The entertainment site Natalie.mu published an article featuring the people involved in the amazing "Tokyo Show" performance at the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games Rio 2016 in Brazil. Part of the production team is from the Japanese group Perfume including BABYMETAL, Sakura Gakuin and Perfume choreographer Mikiko Mizuno. Read more below.

"Rio Olympics Closing Ceremony" was broadcasted live on NHK E Tele on August 22. Ringo Shina served as producer and music director of the uncut version of the "NHK Rio De Janeiro Olympics" in the "Tokyo Show" of the ceremony. 

 

"Tokyo Show" of Tokyo 2020 is packed with the message of the next country to host the Olympic repertoire Japan. After the national anthem "Kimigayo" flowed the venue, through a video was introduced Tokyo, with the humorous one-act of the Prime Minister Shinzo Abe dressed as Mario appearing from the clay pipe of "Super Mario Brothers" as well. In the middle, full use of frames with AR technology and lightinings, 50 acrobatic dancers, including Aomori's University men's rhythmic gymanstics section staff performance. At this part the music is from Nakata Yasutaka (Capsule), and the choreographies from the well known choreography director of Perfume and BABYMETAL, Mikiko.

    Mikiko. should be on everybody's lips when they discuss BABYMETAL. I have never been interested in choreography before, now I'm obsessed! Some of that stuff is Swan Lake.. Hoping she shows up for the Perfume show in Hammerstein next week, and I can get an autograph!

    I was pretty sure KPP used Mikiko., because some of those moves are very similar, but turns out no?
