BABYMETAL fans are "relieved" after Kouhaku's announcement, J-Cast report says
The Kouhaku Uta Gassen 2016 fight for the participation increased conspicuousness on the artists to be announced. Participants' presentation divided fans of each artist between lights and darkness. The dance unit BABYMETAL which broke overseas with a fusion of "metal and dance" is one of the groups that disappointed as was assured to participate. However, surprisingly, many fans are "relieved", as "they don't need to go there".
- They doesn't fit for Kouhaku?
Their present and achievements are enough but...
Regarding to BABYMETAL, "Even though they are an Idol unit, their musicality is popular, and it's becoming a bridge between Japan and overseas" (Weekly Female Prime dated on October 19), "this time is becoming hot topic about their first appearance" (Real Live dated on November 14). There were many reports predicting the Kouhaku participants.
However, their name wasn't in the entry list of artists announced on November 24, they "regrettably" were "defeated". The same expert from Real Live's says: "It's unbelievable they have rejected to participate". The unexpected result had impacts in different directions.
- They are not suitable for Kouhaku from young and old view
However, BABYMETAL fans reaction was cold.
On Twitter after the announcement was released:
"Even though they attended to Kouhaku, is not a plus"
"As a fan, I think is was good"
"On the contrary, this is correct"
"They don't need to go there"
"Relieved about not being selected"
And the voices of relief are coming one after another. At the end, BABYMETAL fans seem to recognize that they doesn't match with the image of Kouhaku. Their songs are heavy metal with intense melodies, their costumes are flashy which look like witches and demons. It doesn't fit with Kouhaku which is watched by young and old. Anyway, they are going to support "Red Hot Chili Peppers" in the UK Tour in December. As far as we can see on Twitter, the interest from fans about Kouhaku is over for now.
