Kerrang reviewed their performance at The O2 in London on December 6 supporting Red Hot Chili Peppers, also announced that KARATE won "Song Of 2016" readers poll and Pop/Rock band Busted discussed "KARATE". TONIGHT'S DOUBLE bill is an odd pairing. For decades, funk has more often than not crossed the road if it saw metal walking the same pavement. But then. Red Hot Chili Peppers were never your average funk band and BABYMETAL aren't your average black T-shirt and riff brigade. From their very inception, both bands have been set apart by their respective freaky styleys. And together, they prove to be an intoxicating match.
For BABYMETAL, The 02 may be a step up from their triumph at the SSE Arena,Wembley in April, but it's a fishbowl compared to recent conquests at Tokyo Dome's 55.000-capacity shark tank. As such, even without their usual eyebrow-scorching, flying pyramid-riding stage production, the trio make light work of firing up an audience that isn't their own. With the poise of ballet dancers and the precision of ninjas, YUIMETAL and MOAMETAL are whirling emotional foils to SU-METAL's defiant front. Whether falling to the floor during Megitsune's searing peak, or delivering synchronised strikes throughout KARATE, the chosen three act in commanding unity that brings the crowd firmly into the metal resistance's fold.
Visibly impressed, irrepressible Chilis bassist Flea takes to the stage donning a Fox mask. What's even more surprising, though, is how full of surprises RHCP are despite their Grammy-winning funk rock being so familiar. Fluorescent lanterns descend from the ceiling and warp in shape with the groove, adding dimension-bending fluidity to the heavy-lidded pulse of Dark Necessities. Some live staples are noticeable by their absence, yet their replacements are equally revelatory. There's no Californication, but there's brooding rarity I Could Have Lied and more recent epic Dreams Of A Samurai. It's in the integral sparring between Flea's mellifluous bass runs and Chad Smith's tight rhythms that The Getaway's expansive approach makes sense, while axeman Josh Klinghoffer always manages to wrestle saturated harmonies from a psychedelic wash of guitar effects. Unsurprisingly though, it's hits like By The Way and Snow (Hey Oh) that nearly blow the roof off, with Give It Away closing the night in a blast of cartoonishly muscular funk rift and gonzoid animations. It's hard to think of many bills . where you'll see thrash-fuelled kabuki meld into ecstatic, elasticated funk. But whether you came for the funk rock titans or the Fox God, it's win-win all round.

Is it coll to come back to the UK with RHCP?
Su-Metal: "Yes! It is very exciting to come and play with a band like them."
How did it feel when they asked you to tour with them?
Su-Metal: "At first it was totally unbelievable to have them give us such an opportunity. When I saw their set at Fuji Rock in the summer, I met one of their staff people, and they told me that RHCP had been watching BABYMETAL's set. That was already surprising and unbelievable, and then after that, having them ask BABYMETAL to tour with them was even more surprising! And our world tour started in the UK, and with this tour it's going to end in the UK as well. I'm really happy to able to do that."

Busted are an English pop rock band consisting of James Bourne, Matt Willis and Charlie Simpson. Formed in 2000, released two studio albums, Busted (2002) and A Present for Everyone (2003), one compilation album and one live album before breaking up in January 2005. Busted have sold over 5 million albums worldwide. Released their third studio album, Night Driver, on 25 November 2016.
