Natalie Music report about Sakura Gakuin 2016 Nendo last event, the Graduation Ceremony for Sara Kurashima and Mirena Kurosawa took place at Nakano Sun Plaza Hall in Tokyo on March 25. Read the emotional report translated and check the beautiful photos below.
Sakura Gakuin 2016 Graduation Ceremony, Natalie Music live report + photos
Sakura Gakuin held the graduation performance "The Road To Graduation 2016 Final, Sakura Gakuin 2016 Graduation" at Nakano Sun Plaza Hall in Tokyo on March 25. Two students, Junior High School 3rd Graders Sara Kurashima and Mirena Kurosawa graduated from the class.
The live started with "School Days" sang by all members following Sara Kurashima. Then the self-introduction song following Mori Hayashi "Mezase! Super Lady", classical music motif "Melodic Solfege", sang about flowers with "Hana Hana" encouraging the venue with a bunch of energy. In "Heart No Hoshi" the 12 students drew "Sakura" using their pom-pongs.
Followed a screening of "Sakura Gakuin 2016 Final" with history looking back on the activities of the fiscal year until has ended. Then the sub-units activity. The Cooking Club "Minipati" consisting on Aiko Yamaide, Momoko Okazaki and Marin Hidaka delivered "Davada Salad de C'est bon Avenue", then the return of Go Home Club "Sleepiece" consisting on Mirena Kurosawa, Maaya Asou and Kano Fujihira sang "Hashire Shoujiki Mono" in pajamas, the Science Research Club "Logica? Ver.2" consisting on Sara Kurashima, Megumi Okazaki and Momoko Okada showed a breath-taking "Delta". Soyoka Yoshida and Tsugumi Aritomo sold graduation specials introducing new goods incorporating rolling balls containing autographs of the members and performed "Piece de Check".
Sara Kurashima and Mirena Kurosawa appeared on stage to sang their number "Yubikiri" with stand microphone, was recorded for this year's new album "Sakura Gakuin 2016 Yakusoku". The song taken for Kurashima and Kurosawa has Showa Kayo Jazz style, the song was delivered with a melacholic melody and cool dancing. Kurashima put out emotions "I want to sing this one with this year's members", it was the first time this year, "Sayonara, Namida". "I-J-I" overwhelmed the audience with the stringed dancing. Fukei seemed to got caught up by the performance which put the emotion from the girls in ther hearts and they gave them back big applause when the music was over.
Sakura Gakuin enters in the final part with "My Graduation Toss". Followed the songs "Mikansei Silhouette", "Identity" and at last "message" with Fukei shaking their Sakura Gakuin flags.
In the cereremony already, the diploma was handed by Mitsuru Kuramoto to the current students. On behalf the current students, Aiko Yamaide the Vice President was in charge of the speech. She said she learned from Sara Kurashima's attitude and the efforts of Mirena Kurosawa and from the play "Shuoh Gakuen Gasshou-bu" which was played last year, enjoyed seeing them acting. Students Council President Sara Kurashima looks back on her own work in Sakura Gakuin revealing her desire to "connect Sakura Gakuin from now on" because this generation has no active members from the original group. After expressing her gratitude to one student at a time, she said: "We received support from many people including all our Fukei this year. Three years crying, laughing, and fighting a lot, three years that we grew little by little while clashes to each other became in great confidence between us and it was a very important time that cannot be replaced by anything. Thank you for watching over until today".
Principal Kuramoto said in the ceremony "Thanks to both, I think the twelve have shone more and each identity came out. This is thanks to these 2 people. I will aim you to become Super Lady. And among them I hope that Sakura Gakuin keeps being a wonderful place as educational institution and I hope you reach greater heights."
Homeroom teacher Mori Hayashi said to Kurashima and Kurosawa: "Here are adults experiencing a big loss. It doesn't matter how many times, we loss. I have a belief as screenwriter, but there is also a belief as Sakura Gakuin teacher. This means I want to make the best experiences to bring out the personalities of Sakura Gakuin. I have been the homeroom teacher for a long time. And I found that because of the relationship between screenwriter and actress, like in "Yubikiri" we could brought out the best of two personalities" speaking to his pupils.
At the end of the ceremony the 12 students showed of "Tabidachi No Hi J-Mix 2016" starting with Yamaide playing piano arragements. Finally ended up with "See you..." like graduation ceremony 2014, fiscal year when Kurashima was transfered. After finishing the setlist. Students sent messages to graduates and graduates back to students. Mirena Kurosawa said: "What I have targeted when became MC Chairperson was bringing out the individuality of everyone in the MC, because I wanted to make MC that we can also enjoy and Fukei as well. Althought it was a short period of two years, I'm happy to be joined to Sakura Gakuin. I would like to be a Super Lady in the future to give back everything to everyone. Thank you for these two years", commented in tears. Kurashima said, "Regretfully I thought it was fun but now I'm all glittering in memories. I think is part of the process of a Sakura Gakuin graduate towards her dreams, the memories that become a sustenance. There was people and members who suppored me a lot in Sakura Gakuin for 3 years and I want to use all what I learned here so I can give that back to those people in the future."
Finally Sara Kurashima and Mirena Kurosawa didn't pass the microphone and said: "Thank you!!". Descended from the stage while receiving big applause.
